  利用PCM实现操作系统快速唤醒的研究
  RAPID SUSPEND AND RESUME OPERATING SYSTEM WITH PCM SUPPORT

摘要

  休眠功能是商用操作系统向用户提供的一个重要功能,它可以根据用户的设定,在计算机空闲时将系统转入不同程度的低功耗运行状态。本文在分析休眠功能的几种不同策略的原理和流程的基础上,指出由于受到存储材料的限制,各种休眠策略都有其缺陷,或是节能有限,或是时间开销较大。

  相变存储器是一种新型非挥发性存储设备,它不需要周期刷新来维持存储在其中的数据,设备断电后数据也不会丢失。此外,它还兼具密度高、读写速度较快、功耗低、数据固有保持期限长等特点,是下一代存储设备的热门候选。

  本文提出了利用相变存储器非挥发、低功耗的特性,提高操作系统休眠速度、降低操作系统休眠状态能耗开销的研究方案。在分析比较各类虚拟机和模拟器的基础上,采用QEMU仿真器模拟相变存储器的非挥发特性,并设计实验验证方案的可行性和有效性。

  本文描述了实现基于相变存储器的操作系统快速休眠和唤醒的功能的架构和方法,通过实验测量了方案在休眠过程各个阶段的时间开销,并与原有的休眠策略进行了比较分析。此外,本文还通过实验分析验证在模拟环境中操作系统性能变化的影响因素。
